The People & Culture Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the People and Culture (Human Resources) team, ensuring a consistent and effective application of Human Resources legislation, policies, procedures and practices.

We are seeking a recent graduate for a People & Culture Coordinator position starting in May 2025. This position will be based out of our west Edmonton office location.

What You Will Be Working On

People & Culture Support

  1. Build and maintain positive working relationships while representing the P&C team across all levels of the organization.
  2. Support the consistent application of P&C principles, practices, and policies.
  3. Assist the People & Culture team with employee documentation, including document creation and archiving for employee changes.
  4. Provide administrative and coordination support for learning initiatives, employee changes, employee relation issues, and other P&C programs.
  5. Support P&C reporting by compiling data from various sources, formatting data for visualization.
  6. Respond to general employee inquiries and draft employment-related letters, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
  7. Participate in team meetings and assist presentations as required.

People & Culture Programs and Process Support

  1. Liaise with different parts of P&C, Operations and Payroll on employee lifecycle activities, including new hires, promotions, terminations, and benefits updates.
  2. Support the planning and execution of P&C projects and initiatives.
  3. Coordinate employee onboarding, including new hire packages, communications, IT and payroll coordination and setup.
  4. Coordinate employee offboarding, including exiting interviews, data capture, system updates, hardware return, and general manager support.
  5. Prepare and maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and documentation.
  6. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and standardization across P&C operations.
  7. Assist in delivering multiple service award programs, including reporting, external system use, manager support, communication with recipients, distribution of awards, and event coordination.
  8. Assist with campus recruitment and co-op hiring efforts, including manager and Talent Acquisition support, reporting, event coordination and attendance.
  9. Assist in managing contracts in collaboration with managers and other operational functions.
  10. Perform additional related duties as required.

What We Are Looking For

  1. Graduated with a post-secondary degree or diploma, with a concentration in Human Resources or related discipline within the last two years.
  2. Have obtained or working towards a CPHR designation is an asset.
  3. 1-2 years’ experience in a Human Resources function as an administrator or coordinator.
  4. Advanced technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  5. Interest and/or experience in artificial intelligence systems.
  6. Interest and/or experience with data management/dashboards, reporting.
  7. Workday, SharePoint, PowerBI knowledge are an asset.
  8. Proven ability to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, including tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing and handling information of a sensitive nature.
  9. Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  10. Related previous work experience is an asset.
  11. Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  12. Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals.
  13. Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
