KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 3-5 years of payroll processing and administration preferred, but not required. Willing to train a strong candidate with relevant skills or education. Experience managing multiple client payrolls is an asset.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software such as QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Payworks, Wagepoint, Dayforce, and ADP. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel. Strong understanding of Canadian federal and provincial payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain client relationships. Ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Education & Certification: Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is an asset. Additional training or coursework in payroll administration, finance, or accounting is beneficial.
COMPETENCIES
Payroll Expertise & Compliance – Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax laws, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Ability to ensure accuracy, meet deadlines, and adapt to legislative changes.
Attention to Detail & Problem Solving – High level of accuracy in payroll calculations, reporting, and auditing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and implement solutions efficiently.
Client Service & Communication – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage client relationships, provide payroll advisory support, and ensure exceptional service delivery. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
Technology & Process Improvement – Proficiency in payroll software (QuickBooks, Payworks, ADP, etc.) and Microsoft Office 365. Ability to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and adapt to new payroll technologies.
