Salary: $75,443 - $80,259 annually

Position Summary: The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator is responsible for performing duties as assigned with respect to payroll and Board and Employee Life Health Trust (ELHT) benefits. Reporting to the Supervisor of Payroll and Benefits, the Coordinator will actively participate in the completion of all payroll and benefits administration and processes to complete cycles for multiple payroll groups.
Some Of The Duties & Responsibilities:
- Administration of benefits, LTD and pension programs.
- Completion of payroll transactions according to strict deadlines and compliance with legislation.
- Calculations and monthly remittances, reconciliations, and reports.
- Review HRIS information for current, active and inactive employees.
- Prepare benefit, payroll and ministry related reports.
- Maintain pension data and processes.
Qualifications:- Minimum of a 3 year post-secondary diploma in human resources, accounting, or business administration or other applicable area of study.
- Minimum of two years related job experience completing payroll and benefits cycles.
- Certification with the National Payroll Institute as a Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) is considered an asset.
- Evidence of proficiency and accuracy with benefit and pension administration, payroll operations, financial records management.
- Prior successful experience utilizing an HRIS, payroll system and other databases and spreadsheets.
- Evidence of effective communication, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills in the workplace.
- Experience with Ontario Teachers Pension Plan and/or OMERS is considered an asset.
- Ability to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Background Check prior to hire.
