Part-Time Civic Engagement Program Manager

Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Program Manager will lead, develop, and implement initiatives that promote civic participation and legislative advocacy, including Lift’s Women on Wednesday program. Women on Wednesday (WOW) is an advocacy program to advance policies for women, girls, and gender-expansive people in Louisiana. Each week during the Louisiana Legislative Session, we will host groups of advocates at the State Capitol to learn about proposed legislation, its potential impacts, and ways to influence the legislative process. The Program Manager will also cultivate a movement of engaged citizens who are building relationships with their elected leaders while also holding them accountable.
This role involves meticulous planning, coordination, and communication to ensure that advocacy events run smoothly and effectively support the organization’s advocacy goals. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in event planning or advocacy, a deep commitment to reproductive justice, experience in community organizing, and a proven ability to manage programs and build partnerships.
Though Lift is currently offering this position as part-time, we are seeking a candidate who may be open to shifting to full-time status as organizational budget and need increases to meet other programming needs.

Location:
This is a remote position based in Louisiana with preference for candidates that reside within 60 miles of Baton Rouge. Candidates who reside in Baton Rouge are highly encouraged to apply. During the legislative session (March-June), extensive time will be spent at the State Capitol Building. Other state and local travel may be required to fulfill job duties.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this part-time position is $26.75 with a minimum of 25 hours per week required.
