POSITION: CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS

DEPARTMENT: Nursing PAY RATE: As per CUPE Agreement

The School of Nursing is now accepting applications for Clinical Instructor positions in the summer term of year 2025 which will run from May 5 – July 25, 2025.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Instructors are responsible for teaching and supervising a group of BScN students who provide direct client care in clinical settings, work in a clinical skills and simulation lab or tutorial group setting. Tasks include but are not limited to lab demonstrations, marking and proctoring term tests and final examinations as well as evaluating assignments. Access to a computer (no tablet/iPad/phone) with working internet to run Microsoft Teams for online meetings and instruction is required. Clinical Instructors will report to the instructor of record for their course and work under the protection of CUPE Collective Agreement 3912 – Dalhousie University. SUMMER 2025:

1. N2710 (Population Health Nursing, Experience in Community/Public Health Nursing required)

• COMMUNITY TEACHER/TUTORIAL INSTRUCTOR: Not to exceed 72 hrs. Bi-weekly 2h tutorials: Thursdays a.m. plus full week Community Clinical (July 14-18, 2025)

• SIMULATION LAB INSTRUCTORS: Not to exceed 77 hrs (Tuesdays a.m. or p.m.)
• LONGTERM CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS: Not to exceed 60 hrs (July 21-25, 2025)

• TUTORIAL LEADS: Not to exceed 22 hrs, held bi-weekly Thursdays a.m.

• TUTORIAL LEADS: Not to exceed 22 hrs, held bi-weekly Wednesdays p.m., between May 5-23 and June 23-July 18, 2025

• SIMULATION LAB INSTRUCTORS: Not to exceed 58 hrs (Wednesdays a.m. or p.m.)
• CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS FOR 3 weeks in Med/Surg placement (Not to exceed 140 hrs) Option A: June 23 - July 11, 2025; Option B: June 30 - July 18, 2025
• CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS FOR 4 weeks in Med/Surg placement (Not to exceed 180 hrs) Option C: June 23 - July 18, 2025
• CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS FOR 1 week in Mental Health placement (Not to exceed 60 hrs) Option D: June 23-27, 2025; Option E: July 14-18, 2025

• SIMULATION LAB INSTRUCTORS: Not to exceed 58 hrs, (Thursday a.m. or p.m. labs between May 5-23 and June 23 - July 18, 2025)
