We are searching for our next talented team member as a Park Operations Supervisor to join our team. If you can provide our guests with an amazing experience, combined with working as an energetic part of our resort, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, assign, and supervise the work of the Park Operations, Collections & Gatehouse, Grounds keeper, BoatHouse, and Visitor Center Staffs.
- Ensure smooth operation of park facilities and arrange maintenance and repair work.
- Train staff in job duties, safety protocols, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
- Monitor quality of the work, safety, and security of the park operations team.
- Report all workplace injuries and/or incidents, including near misses to Park Management and People and Culture.
- Assist staff and handle any situation that may arise in a calm and professional manner (difficult guests, injuries, emergency situations, etc.).
- Order supplies and keep a functioning inventory at all times.
- Coordinate activities/work with other departments supervisors and managers.
- Clean and maintain parks facilities according to BC Parks standards (including but not limited to pit toilets, campsites, picnic tables, firepits, communal areas, wash houses, day use areas, etc.).
- Empty garbage and recycling bins.
- Collection of park fees, firewood sales, winter activity sales, register campers, etc.
- Cash handling including completion of end of shift duties; balancing deposits, and daily completion of logbooks, and other administrative tasks as required.
- Monitor and provide reports on occupancy of campsites to Park Management.
- Provide site security and enforcement of Park policies; report incidents and occurrences efficiently to Park Management.
- Ensure high levels of customer service; provide campers with information on park activities.
- Represent BC Parks and Manning Park Resort in a professional manner.
- Record and report traffic counter results and park stats.
- Equipment inspection and maintenance (Truck & Trailers, Generators, Power Tools, Gators and Golf Cart, Lawn mowers, etc.).
- Assist in areas of the Operations department and other tasks as required by resort operations.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Previous experience supervising a team.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Value safe working practices.
- Available to work flexible hours; weekend, evening, and holidays shift is required.
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Previous experience handling money and record keeping.
- Clean drivers abstract and criminal record check.
- Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Experience with landscaping, and working with chainsaw and power tools is an asset.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Any level of first aid is an asset. OFA Level 3 preferred.
- Strong computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel); CAMIS; and Rez Expert or other similar RV resort PMSs.
- Heavy and medium equipment (e.g. skid steer and loader) operating experience an asset.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment as both an individual and team player.
- Fluent in English.
