Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of legal procedures. This role involves supporting attorneys in various tasks, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely, and maintaining effective communication with clients and court personnel.
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings by organizing case files and drafting documents.
Draft legal documents while ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
Perform data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date records in case management.
Conduct client interviews to gather necessary information for ongoing cases.
Proofread documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to legal formatting standards.
Manage project timelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Maintain effective phone etiquette when communicating with clients and court officials.
Provide clerical support including filing, scanning, and organizing case files.
Requirements
Experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department is an asset.
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional phone etiquette in French and English.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Familiarity with legal drafting processes and proofreading techniques is an asset.
Previous experience in data entry and clerical duties is an asset.
