Packaging buyer

I am currently recruiting a Buyer, Packaging, for one of my clients, a manufacturing company in the food industry.

Reporting to the Vice President, Supply Chain, you will be responsible for all packaging purchasing, ensuring supplier performance, product quality, and cost optimization.

Your main responsibilities:

1. Develop effective sourcing strategies and select the best suppliers in the market.
2. Evaluate products and suppliers by analyzing their quality, reliability, and competitiveness.
3. Conduct negotiations with manufacturers and suppliers to secure the best terms.
4. Define quality standards and manage product control and complaints.
5. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and build a high-performance network.
6. Monitor costs, optimize expenses, and identify opportunities for improvement.
7. Oversee day-to-day operations related to purchasing and inventory management.
8. Establish and monitor performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of implemented strategies.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in operations management, administration, or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5 years experience in supply management in a manufacturing environment.
3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
4. Bilingualism essential (French/English), as the incumbent will be required to interact on a daily basis with international colleagues, customers, and partners who do not speak French.
5. Proficiency in Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
6. Proficiency in ERP systems, ideally on the SAP platform.
7. Strong problem-solving skills.
8. Sense of urgency and priorities.
