Job Title: Outsourcing Coordinator

Location: Cambridge, ON | On-site

Job Type: Full-time

The Position:

The Outsourcing Coordinator will assist in organizing and coordinating all outsourcing requirements in accordance with the production schedule. The incumbent will coordinate department material requirements with respective vendors, ensuring that production timelines and project budget goals are met while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Issue RFPs to vendors as directed by Production Control Supervisor. For competitive bids, assemble quotes and prepare preliminary sourcing analysis.
  • Following issuance of POs and build plans, follow up weekly on status of all pending deliveries and escalate all schedule risks to Project Team.
  • Requisition and coordinate with Procurement regarding all non-engineered manufacturing items as directed by Tool Room, Electrical Shop, Fabrication & Machine Shop Supervisors.
  • Review and approve invoices for all outsourced manufacturing items.
  • Ensure all outsourced components are built to product specifications and meet Eclipse's high standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
  • Proactively recognize issues, initiate action, assist in problem solving, and evaluate results on major issues.
  • Maintain profitability in the Eclipse assembly department.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Liaise with mechanical engineering to assemble technical quote package for all outsourced items.
  • Ensure scheduled milestones are met.
  • Update Open Issues List as required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safely.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and/or travel as required in varying timelines.
  • Notify the appropriate departments if milestones are not met.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary education related to supply chain.
  • Expectation of travel to vendor/supplier locations is less than 15% of time, however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs.
  • Knowledge in SolidWorks and AutoCAD would be an asset.
  • Must have knowledge in types of materials.
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience in the custom automation industry.
  • Professional verbal communication and business acumen.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Direction of plant operations and community relations requires significant manufacturing knowledge.
  • Must be self-motivated and lead by example.
