Your Impact as Certified Orthodontic Assistant

In this role, you'll be instrumental in creating positive patient experiences and driving practice growth. Key responsibilities include:

1. Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers to ensure the targeted outcome treatment remains on schedule.
2. Educate patients on oral hygiene.
3. Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system.
4. Take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans.
5. Provide reports to parents/guardians.
6. Assist Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures.
7. Clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices.
8. Set up trays and prepare brackets for bonding.
9. Unload and store new supplies.
10. Ability to perform other duties as required for the efficient operation of the practice.

About You

1. You are a self-starter.

Qualifications

1. Certified Dental Assistant and licensed with BCCOHP.
2. Completion of the Orthodontics Module.
3. 1+ years’ experience as a Dental Assistant; experience in an orthodontic office preferred but not required.
4. Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, verbal and written, with a proven ability to build strong relationships to build positive rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members and community.
5. Strong conflict resolution, problem solving and decision-making skills.
6. Keen attention-to-detail and time management.
7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; proficiency with dental software systems is an asset to complete tasks such as data entry, patient tracking, and imaging.
