We are currently looking to hire an Optometry Office Manager to join our busy and well-established optometry practice. The successful candidate will have a passion for building strong patient relationships and contributing to the overall vision health of our community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and work with a team in an optometry setting
  • Maintain and optimize the schedule for optometrists and support staff
  • Oversee patient check-ins and check-outs; collect payments and schedule follow-up visits
  • Coordinate with insurance providers for benefits verification and pre-authorizations
  • Support treatment planning and coordination
  • Prepare and finalize financial arrangements with patients
  • Maintain positive patient relations through ongoing communication and support
  • Respond professionally to patient inquiries and address any concerns
  • Handle a high volume of patients while ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to team members as necessary
  • Communicate openly with optometrists and other staff regularly
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

What We Are Looking For

  • Exceptional phone manners and outstanding customer service skills
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and familiarity with multiline phone systems
  • Experience with optometry or practice management software is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential patient information
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of optometry procedures, terminology, and insurance benefits

Requirements

  • Experience working in an optometry office or similar healthcare setting is preferred
  • Formal training in optometry administration, or experience as an office manager, receptionist, or patient coordinator is an asset
  • Knowledge of insurance processes relevant to eye care

Pay: $50,000.00-$52,000.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Abbotsford, BC V2S 0K2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Store management: 3 years (preferred)
