Description

The dispatcher will be responsible to maintain collaborative partnership with internal and external stakeholders to streamline stages of operational route management. This role will work in close partnership with management, couriers, sales, call center, dock team, and external customers to effectively manage the daily workflow while providing a positive customer experience. This includes real time resolution i.e.) paging cases and emails for deliveries and pickups, time extension and shipment resolution.

Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with drivers and managers to ensure all service commitments are appointed to the appropriate routes and when required liaise with the two parties to meet daily performance objectives.
  2. Authorize drivers' requests to leave territory.
  3. Solve problems for the drivers on route including contacting customers and terminal managers to facilitate a positive customer experience.
  4. Page drivers to gather relevant investigative facts to validate service concerns generated via emails from management, call center, and sales for delivery and pickup identified by customers.
  5. Monitor systems and ensure drivers are connected to the network as well as drivers are not showing in alerts.
  6. Collaborate with management to re-allocate service commitments such as pickups and load balance drivers’ routes when required.
  7. Cross-functional communication within the dispatch department.
  8. Maintain database and generate reports requested by operations management.

Education

Completion of High School

Experience

1 year experience within a dispatch role, Logistics and/or Supply Chain operations
1 year experience using SalesForce & CCD system

Hours of Work: 22.5 hours/week

Shift: Friday: 6:00PM to 2:00AM, Saturday: 1:00PM to 9:00PM and Sunday: 1:30PM to 9:30PM (22.5 hours/week)

Working Conditions: Office Environment; Warehouse Environment
