Operations - Production Worker

Position Summary:

Working in a team environment, the Production Worker is responsible for ensuring the proper set up, operation and maintenance of rebar cutting and bending equipment to meet customer schedules while ensuring safety, production and quality control goals are met.

Shift schedule: Start times may vary based on business needs but successful candidate must be able to attend work starting as early as 6am, Monday to Friday with the occasional need for overtime.

Position Functions:

• Program, set up and operate rebar cutting, bending, and shearing machines
• Read and interpret production orders to determine specifications and ensure accuracy.
• Monitor machine operation, making necessary adjustments to ensure precision and quality standards.
• Perform quality inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and angle finders.
• Maintain accurate production records, documenting completed work and any machine adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on machines to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety protocols, ensuring a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent combined with prior experience in manufacturing, construction or metal fabrication setting.
• Previous experience operating rebar bending, cutting, or shearing equipment is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to measure accurately.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods, ability to lift 23 kgs (50 lbs).
• Commitment to workplace safety, keeping work area clean and tidy.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings would be an asset.
