Salary Range: $5,825-$7,574 Monthly

Grade: MCP.05

The Ministry of Highways is seeking a proven leader to join our Central Region Operations team as an Operations Manager. In this role, you will manage the Indigenous Roving Crew Program, a valuable initiative for maintaining the highway system. You will manage diverse teams, coordinate resources, and ensure the successful delivery of essential highway preservation and maintenance services. This position is based in Saskatoon.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the successful individual will:

  1. Lead recruitment, hiring, employee training, employee safety, and performance management in building maintenance roving crews to support in the delivery of highway preservation activities.
  2. Plan, organize, schedule, and allocate resources effectively, ensuring all required materials, equipment, and personnel are in place to deliver internal preservation and maintenance activities.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Tribal Councils, First Nations and Métis organizations, contractors, suppliers, and community partners.
  4. Assist in the preparation of contracts and agreements related to Operations programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.

To qualify for the Operations Manager position, you will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university, and be eligible for registration as a professional engineer or engineer-in-training or engineer licensee with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), OR you will possess a two-year degree/diploma in Engineering, and be eligible for registration with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT), and have eight years related work experience, OR you will have a minimum of 15 years progressively responsible experience and general knowledge of project management, asset management, maintenance and preservation, operations, design, construction, contract administration and contract law.

Overnight travel will occasionally be required.
