The Opportunity?

We are currently accepting applications for an Operations Manager for our Feed Mill. Under the direction of our Chief Operations Officer, this position is responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction for all Feed Operations. This role will direct all activities related to the Feed Mill and our Grain Handling/Storage facilities to ensure operations are safe, effective, efficient and continuously improving.

Duties and Responsibilities?
Key expectations for this role will include:

• Identify and set operational goals and objectives for the Mill operations
• Regularly liaise with other Country Ribbon Inc divisions to ensure company objectives are being met
• Ensures all products manufactured at the Mill meet quality standards while maintaining optimal productivity levels
• Monitor facility performance against key performance indicators and take corrective action as required
• Order grains and feed ingredients and effectively coordinate delivery logistics, including bulk and bag ingredient ordering
• Effectively manage all staff; including training, performance management, employee coaching, scheduling and leave management
• Identifies capital requirements and manages projects to ensure execution is on time and within budget
• Prepares annual budget and strives to exceed same
• Monitor the offloading and storage of grain at Long Pond/Cochrane Pond facilities and ensures the maximum utilization of storage
• Responsible for the HACCP and OHS programs to ensure employee and food safety at all times
• Oversee the utilization and activities of Contractors as required
• Approve and verify purchase orders, invoices and payroll
• Foster effective labour and employee relations; member of collective agreement negotiating team

You will have post-secondary education in engineering, business, agriculture or another relevant field. This will be combined with 7 years' management experience in a processing or manufacturing environment. The proven ability to foster collaboration across teams and provide strategic direction are essential assets.
