Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice President of Distribution and Planning, the Operations Manager serves as a member of the Northwest Operations leadership team overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bulk facility including inbound, packaging, and shipping. This role is responsible for leading all warehouse functions and the Company’s operational strategy for the facility.
The Operations Manager ensures efficient processes, maximizing productivity, and achieving operational goals by managing staff, budgets, and quality control (indirectly) across various departments, while identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the productivity, efficiency, and overall operations performance of the company’s largest warehouse facility.
- Manage the facility’s leadership team including the Packaging Manager and Inbound Manager.
- Lead and implement operational processes and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain and oversee strategies and programs that drive operational efficiencies and process improvements.
- Implement and monitor operational measures and KPIs to improve safety, quality, order fill, on-time delivery, and costs.
- Manage overall budget for the inbound distribution facility including forecasting budgets throughout the year, reporting on variances and reasons, communicating with the team on budget, and achieving the budget/forecasted amounts.
- Provide input to the Vice President of Distribution in the areas of facility planning, direction, and budgetary requirements.
- Champion a safety-focused work environment to reduce/eliminate work-related accidents and injuries. Work closely with the facility’s Human Resources Representative on Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the facility’s Human Resources Representative regarding Union Grievances and Policy/Procedures.
- Ensure facility’s alignment on strategic direction for the distribution and logistics team.
- Provide active participation in the planning process leading to 95% order fill.
- Work closely with Supply Chain to assess and implement inventory control and optimization strategies and programs.
Ideal Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of leadership experience in warehouse manufacturing or distribution management, driving operational excellence.
- Exceptional leadership skills in talent development, fostering a high-performance culture, and cultivating future leaders within operations.
- Experience managing and leading all aspects of distribution operations, with a demonstrated background in driving efficiency and optimizing supply chain performance.
- Strong analytical capabilities, using data and KPIs to drive continuous improvement and achieve measurable business results.
- Proven track record in change management, strategic planning, and aligning operational goals with corporate objectives.
- Expertise in Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing, and Value Stream Mapping to optimize processes and improve performance.
- Proven ability to drive business process improvements in an entrepreneurial environment, collaborating effectively with diverse teams to achieve operational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, with a strong foundation in business operations.

- This position is onsite 5 days as per company policy.
