Operational Technology Cyber Security Specialist

Number of positions: 2

Location: Fraser Vly Office

Employment type: Permanent

Region: Lower Mainland

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk)

Flexible Work Role: Hybrid

One of BC Hydro's key business priorities is to ensure proper Cyber Security programs are defined and in place to protect its Assets from threat actors. BC Hydro is continuing to strengthen its internal Cyber Security programs and is looking for highly qualified, self-driven individuals with highly developed analytical, collaboration, and communications skills to contribute to this important business objective.

Position Highlights

What you'll do:

  1. Responsible for Cybersecurity of the Operation Technology (Industrial Control System [ICS]) part of the BC Hydro system.
  2. Develop and improve existing Cyber Security programs for the OT assets.
  3. Provide direction and education to business areas and maintain expertise.
  4. Develop and maintain knowledge of BC Hydro's program methodologies, policies, and published practices.
  5. Participate in annual risk-based Cyber Security reviews.
  6. Manage and lead incidents, investigations, and mitigation plans related to OT Cyber Security.

What you bring:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (electrical, P&C or telecom preferred) or relevant fields such as computer science.
  2. Minimum of 12 years of experience in Cyber Security and Network/systems administration.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Cyber Security related to OT assets.
  4. Effective communication and presentation skills.
  5. Strong relationship management, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Experience in program or Project Management.
