We have a brand-new role for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our IT Team! This is an exciting new opportunity to provide support in the cyber security space, to help us drive our Operational IT Strategy. You will work closely with the Cyber Security Manager on a day-to-day basis, but it won't stop there! Due to the nature of the role, you will also engage regularly with colleagues across the rest of our IT and Plant Engineering teams.

You will be responsible for supporting all security and resilience aspects across the business, including strategy, policy, standards, and assurance. Supporting Vulnerability Management through the lifecycle, compliance with cyber security policies, and responding to incidents will be an important part of your role. You'll conduct risk assessments, audits, and testing of security infrastructure. Collaborate with the Cyber Security Manager on incidents, root cause analysis, and continual service improvement and help develop resilience and incident response plans to promote a positive security culture through education and awareness programs.
NIS Regulation
Consider the business's technical requirements and implement the necessary changes where needed, you'll guide Operational & Engineering (O&E) tasks required to maintain and progress us from Basic Profile to Enhanced Profile of the CAF whilst creating and developing efficient processes for NIS Directive compliance.
Strategy
Support strategic and operational planning for business goals by fostering innovation, prioritising security, and coordinating security system evaluation and deployment. You will assist in establishing security goals, objectives, and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and identifying cost-effective security system investments.
Administration
Help us in defining and assisting security plans, policies and standards for acquiring and implementing new IT/OT systems. Working alongside stakeholders to define business requirements for new technology and support business case justification and cost analysis for these. You'll perform maintenance activities like patching and upgrades and ensure continuous service delivery by monitoring the systems performance.
Support
Provide general support in relation to OT and Security, using your expertise to identify and recommend solutions for re-occurring issues. You will also assist the Infrastructure Team with IT support and projects, including back-up and disaster recovery within the O&E area.
Governance
Ensure we are adhering to policies, architectural standards and guidelines, operational processes and procedures, including relevant build and security standards, as well as compliance with any regulatory standards and frameworks.
Other
You will be required to travel to all of InterGen's UK sites when required and take part in the On-Call rota system.
As our Cyber Security Engineer, you will have experience in a wide range of Cyber Security areas and have Security Certification. You'll be tech-savvy and have superior analytical and problem-solving skills. It is essential that you have knowledge of security frameworks and standards implementation such as NIST. You must be able to demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for security, including the ability to keep current with the latest threats, technologies, and trends. We're looking for someone who has security-related skills within infrastructure, cloud, virtualisation and network concepts and technologies, particularly in a Microsoft-centric environment (Defender, Cloud apps, Security scores, Purview including Data classification and retention, Identity Management, and conditional Access).
