About the Opportunity

Bouve College of Health Sciences invites applications to one position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor/Associate Teaching Professor/Full Teaching Professor and Associate Director of MS in Health Informatics Program. This position reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the health informatics profession. The person who fills this role must have a demonstrated ability to work across all disciplines in healthcare to ensure that the healthcare technology supports the highest level of patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching and participating in departmental, college, and university service. Qualified candidates must have expertise in, or a demonstrated commitment to, working with diverse student populations and/or in a culturally diverse work and educational environment.
  • Manage program administrative activities; advise students on academic and curriculum/registration issues; serve as liaison between the program and University offices that handle matters pertaining to graduate students; attend all relevant committee meetings.
  • Manage admissions process for the Vancouver campus, including answering inquiries, supporting completion of applications, and processing of applications.
  • Advise on Vancouver capstone projects.
  • Coordinate with marketing groups; recruit students to program; maintain presence at events for recruitment.
  • As one of the administrative contacts for all program related matters, will communicate with and maintain contact with prospective, new, and current program graduate students.
  • May be required by the Program Director to act as liaison between the program and all University offices that handle matters pertaining to the program.
  • As required, assist in preparing and managing annual and multi-year enrollment projections and work with the Director in executing the program budget, staffing approved program courses and evaluating and updating program offerings as needed.
  • Teaching faculty are encouraged to engage in research and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Minimum of two years of experience teaching in higher education.
  • Individual must have strong communication skills (verbal and written), strong project management skills, and proven experience with spreadsheets and databases.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population a must.
  • Must have expertise working independently and as a member of a team.

Pay Range:
Assistant Teaching Professor: $119,000 - $143,000 CAD | Associate Teaching Professor: $130,000 - $158,000 CAD | Teaching Professor: $146,000 - $175,000 CAD

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
