Job Title: Operational Excellence Co-op Student - Data Analytics

Location: Castlebar, Co. Mayo. On-site

Duration: 6-9 Months

Your Role At Vantive

We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Co-op Student to join our Operational Excellence team. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to vital data analytics projects, supporting continuous improvement initiatives across our operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, applying your analytical skills to solve complex problems and drive efficiency in our processes.

What are your responsibilities?

  • Assist in the development and implementation of data analytics projects to support operational excellence initiatives.
  • Collect, clean, and analyse data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to monitor performance metrics and key indicators.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to understand operational challenges and provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Support the documentation and standardization of processes to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Contribute to the deployment of analytical tools and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Engage in continuous learning activities to stay abreast of the latest data analytics techniques and tools relevant to the medical device/pharmaceutical industry.

We Are Looking For People Who Have The Following

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field, with a strong academic record.
  • Available for a 6-9 month full-time co-op placement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analytics tools and software (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis, data modelling, and predictive analytics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations.
  • Highly motivated self-starter and team worker.
  • The ability for critical thinking and problem solving.
  • The ability to communicate and work with all manner of team members, in a conscientious and inclusive way.
  • Prior experience or coursework in healthcare, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals is a plus.
  • Legal authorization to work in the placement country without visa sponsorship.
