On-Call Overnight Visting Nurse

Job Description

We are looking for On-Call nurses to work from 5pm-7am in Chatham Kent and surrounding areas.

In this community nursing role, as a Visiting Nurse you will work both on-call overnights and have scheduled visits to care for patients in various settings (ie. home and school). You will work with patients with differing complexity of care needs and play a key role in helping patients remain safe and comfortable in their community for as long as possible.

What You’ll Do

• Work overnights on-call and care for patient needs during scheduled visits in your community
• Frequently utilized skills may include: tracheostomy care, suctioning, ventilator care and monitoring, g-tube feed and maintenance, transfers, personal care as required.
• Execute and continuously monitor care plans
• Engage patients, families and team members, using a collaborative approach by building rapport and trust

What You Bring

• Registration with the CNO as a Nurse in good standing
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
• Experience in delivering community care is an asset
• Reliability and flexibility
• Willingness to travel to and from patient residences/school settings and day programs
