Octopus Academy Surrey is looking for F/T Early Childhood Education Workers.

• Position: Early Childhood Education Worker
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $20~$22/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions: 2
• Work Location: 13639 104 Avenue, Surrey, BC V3T 1W3
• 4% vacation pay
• Health and dental after probation

Job Duties:

• Develop childcare programs to promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• Plan activities by reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children on field trips of interest.
• Create and maintain a healthy and safe environment for children.
• Evaluate the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members.
• Detect the signs of potential learning or behavioural problems of children, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor.
• Teach children to eat properly, dress, and appropriate toilet habits.
• Build a good relationship with employees and community service providers working with children.
• Supervise and suggest activities for other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.

Job Requirements:

• Experience: Experience is an asset.
• Education: College Certificate or diploma in early childhood education is required.
• Certificate: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, E.C.E. Certificate.
