Job description

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) at Monarch House, your primary responsibility is implementing interventions for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental delays and/or motor delays.

Your role as an Occupational Therapy Assistant is to execute intervention plans developed and supervised by a Registered Occupational Therapist for clients in the care of Monarch House.

The Assistant will work within an interdisciplinary team while providing an engaging and positive client experience in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment.

Please note that we do not offer LMIA or independent contractor setup.

Employment Setup: Part-time.

Hourly Salary: From $23-24/hr.

Work Setting: Center-based.

Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday, 9 am - 7 pm.

Take an inside look at what you will do each day:

  1. Communication with family/client and supervisor on session progress.
  2. Implementation of treatment plans based on best practices.
  3. Prepares teaching materials and organizes the teaching environment.
  4. Responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for the client.
  5. Responsible for maintaining the well-being and safety of the client while under their care.
  6. Responsible to track client progress through the collection of data and graphing while keeping clients engaged.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

  1. Post-secondary coursework in Occupational Therapy.
  2. Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  3. Minimum 1 year of experience working as an OTA.
  4. Current Standard CPR and First Aid Certificate.
