The Northumberland Hills Hospital is currently seeking a LOCUM Obstetrician / Gynecologist to join our vibrant team/community for coverage during the summer of 2025. Practice opportunities include primary and consultation obstetrics, gynecologic surgery (fully equipped for minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery), outpatient clinics and emergency department consultation.
The Maternal Child Care program provides low risk obstetrical care (Level 1) with approximately 550 births per year with capacity to grow. The birthing unit provides a family centered environment that is equipped with six labour and delivery beds – each with their own private and home-like suite; a dedicated C-section operating suite; and an advanced fetal and patient monitoring system.
Our team consists of registered nurses specifically trained in obstetrical and newborn care, obstetricians, family physicians, midwives, anesthetists, respiratory therapists, pharmacy staff, dietitians, social workers, and volunteers. This team is committed to the provision of exceptional patient care. The team actively participates in the MoreOB risk management program and follows the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists guidelines. The program is committed to mother-baby dyad care and works within a patient and family centered model of care. The hospital is currently working toward Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation and provides breastfeeding support.
Full-spectrum general obstetrics and gynecology scope of practice. NHH is affiliated with three major Universities (Toronto, Queen’s, and Ottawa) and is a recognized educational site for Family Medicine Residents and Undergraduates.
The applicant must be experienced, competent, and up to date with regard to general obstetrics and gynecology.
Remuneration is based on a daily stipend with travel and accommodations covered.
