POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Jazz Drummondville residence has the pleasure of welcoming a golden clientele, autonomous or losing their autonomy. We are currently looking for a talented Auxiliary Nurse who cares about the health of residents.
Permanent full-time position, 7/15, day and evening and weekends as needed.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to standards and regulations in accordance with private seniors' home certification and employer policies.
- Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics.
- Assist in evaluating and adjusting therapeutic nursing plans (TNPs) for residents requiring special clinical care.
- Create and maintain meticulous notes in related dossiers in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières du Québec (OIIQ).
- Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the vested parties.
- Help maintain the relationship of trust with residents' family and friends as well as with various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.).
- Identify and transmit the needs of the service department.
- Promote and advocate for proactive care among residents.
- Provide healthcare and wellness services to maintain and restore residents' health and to help prevent illness.
- Respond to all emergency situations.
- Take part in the clinical assessments of residents and update treatment plans according to their specific needs.
- Upon request by the residents' doctor or pharmacist, update the residents' medical dossiers and prescriptions.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Collective degree in nursing (DEC) or a professional studies diploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset.
- Good sense of interpersonal communication.
- Geriatric experience, an asset.
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years experience.
- Member of the OIIAQ or the OIIQ.
- Up to date CPR / AED training certificates.
