Salary range: The salary range for this position is CAD $59.56 - $85.62 / hour.

ARH’s Vascular Surgery is a dynamic team that focuses on collaborative episodic and longitudinal care for a complex population. The team is interdisciplinary and very supportive and you will be working with partner NPs. This position requires someone who is team-focused and wants to excel in their practice of acute medical/surgical patients. There are many opportunities to advance and flourish in this position.
Vascular patients have complex medical and surgical needs and require both episodic and longitudinal care. There is a high acuity component to this patient population, and we do focus on patient education and optimization of therapy through both interventions as well as medical therapies.
The Nurse Practitioner will be working with the team which comprises of Vascular Specialists, Registered Nurses, PT, OT, Dietitian, Pharmacists, Social Workers, and unit clerks.
Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre is a 280-bed, University of British Columbia affiliated hospital offering medical, surgical, obstetrics, inpatient pediatrics, renal, cardiology, tertiary palliative care, helipad, as well as 24/7 emergency services with nearly 80,000 visits annually.

This position will also have a new and exciting postgraduate up to 6-month nurse practitioner residency program. FH is the first health authority to implement a formal residency program for NPs in the province, which will be key to supporting the development of NPs and practice-readiness in select programs. You will receive in-depth in-house advanced training within a clinical area relevant to the position, improve your team collaboration and develop a model of patient-centered care.

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the comprehensive assessment of patients/clients/residents including diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions. The Nurse Practitioner initiates treatment including health care management, therapeutic interventions and prescribes medications in accordance with the statutory and regulatory standards, limits, and conditions, and employer policies and procedures. The Nurse Practitioner provides professional guidance to other health professionals and practices autonomously and interdependently within the context of an interdisciplinary health care team, making referrals to specialist physicians and others as appropriate.
The position collaborates with patients/clients/residents and other health professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for patients/clients/residents, families and communities; develops and implements population and evidence-based strategies to improve health and participates in policy-making activities that influence health services and practices. The position participates in peer review and self-review to evaluate the outcome of services at the patient/client/resident, community and population level.

Current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Recent relevant clinical nursing experience.
