These jobs are based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.
Who We AreHealth and Social Services’ Community and Primary Care (CPC) Division has a range of clinic settings and programs to meet the health needs of Yukoners. The model of care in CPC enables Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to work in a variety of programs that suit their interests and specialties. NPs work as part of five clinics in Whitehorse:
- Centre de Santé Constellation Health Centre – providing primary health care services to Yukoners across the age spectrum.
- Whitehorse Walk-in Clinic – offering same-day treatment for minor illnesses, injuries and medical procedures;
- Yukon Healthy Living Program – offering programs and services for Yukoners living with chronic health conditions.
- Referred Care Clinic – providing primary care for vulnerable adults with complex mental health challenges or substance use disorders.
- Withdrawal Management Services – providing safe withdrawal support and medications.
All of these clinics function as multi-disciplinary integrated teams, with team members including physicians, registered nurses, social workers, pharmacists, exercise specialists, licensed practical nurses, medical office assistants and other social and allied health professionals.
Immediate needs at the time of this posting include the Whitehorse Walk-in Clinic and the Centre de Santé Constellation Health Centre.
Who We Are Looking ForThe NP works within the full scope of their legislated practice, blending research, specialized nursing knowledge and comprehensive clinical care skills to deliver health care to clients from birth to death and with health issues ranging from acute to chronic, and simple to complex.
The NP provides primary health care in close collaboration with other medical and allied health staff and works closely with health and social providers located in Whitehorse and throughout the territory. The NP liaises with key partners to provide holistic, accessible and equitable care for all CPC clients and contributes to an environment that is inclusive, non-discriminatory, and physically, psychologically and culturally safe.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have experience working in a health clinic setting providing primary healthcare in close collaboration with other medical and allied health staff.

- Registered or eligible to be registered as a Nurse Practitioner and in good standing with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association.
- Recently applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices and techniques.
- Bilingual French is considered an asset.

Conditions of employmentYou must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
- TB screening.
- Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance.
- WHMIS 2015 (completed within one month of hire).
- Obtain and maintain registration in good standing with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association.
- Verification of Degree.
Job RequirementsThis job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:
- Work in a clinical environment, both physically established and mobile.
- Interact with emotional, physically abusive and/or dissatisfied clients and family members as a result of dealing with emergency and emotional situations, including clients’ loss of physical abilities, adjusting to new environments, terminal and acute illness, bereavement, families in crisis, alcohol and drug problems, depression, and unpredictable behaviors.
- May experience increased stress from clinical experiences and associated decisional responsibilities.
- Infectious agents in the handling and disposing of bodily fluids and wastes, needles, dressings, and treatment of patients with infections, and latex products.
- Travel within the territory periodically, and travel out-of-territory to attend meetings, workshops, and conferences for professional development, as required.
- May participate in an afterhours schedule to support clinic services outside of regular business hours.
