Job Description
The Nurse Educator is responsible, in collaboration with Program Leadership, for assessment, implementation, planning, evaluation, and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge and the translation of knowledge to practice.
Contribute to safe, quality care by:

- Addressing and resolving issues in a productive, respectful manner.

- In partnership with clinical leadership, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs to meet the educational needs of nursing staff as well as other members of the clinical team.
- Contributing to a safe, inclusive environment for all through compliance with patient and staff safety policies.
What must you have?
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN or RN (EC), in good standing.
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications.
- Coronary Care 1 and Coronary Care 2 certifications.
- Minimum five years of relevant and recent inpatient and outpatient cardiac experience.
- Recent clinical experience in a Cath Lab or equivalent setting is an asset.
- Electrophysiology experience is an asset.

- Proven ability to achieve outcomes through programs delivered to individuals and groups.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of an interprofessional team.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work in a continuously changing environment.
- Ability to effectively identify needs and facilitate practice-related improvements.
- Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Skill in using empathy in interactions with patients and staff.
- Proven attendance record.
- Models an understanding of patient and staff safety policies and procedures to foster a safe and inclusive environment.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing and stressful environment in a positive manner.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education within the past two (2) years.
- Demonstrated effective ability in interpersonal relationships, oral and written communication skills, organization skills, priority setting skills, problem-solving, decision-making, facilitating teamwork, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to function independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position.

Preferably, your profile also includes:
- Certification from the Canadian Nurses Association, Cardiovascular Specialty.
- Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, or another organization.
- Relevant and recent experience as a clinical nurse educator in an acute medicine and critical care setting.
