Job Description
The Industrialization Lead (NPI Engineer) will have the responsibility for New Product Introduction products. This candidate will work collaboratively with multiple functions such as Manufacturing Team, Program Team, Engineering team, and Supply Chain team in a team environment.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in responses to RFP requirements from potential customers regarding Industrialization and the elaboration of recurring and non-recurring quotes.
- Verify and maintain the current cost model based on product and equipment evolution.
- Suggest an industrial scheme (Make or Buy) strategy while considering manufacturability, processes, and means, ensuring that the Return of Experience (RETEX) is taken into account.
- Contribute to the development of the product development logic (LDEV).
- Plan, implement, and coordinate NPI, including prototype build, qualification candidate build, product design, product specifications, process validations, identification of training needs, and test strategy.
- Interface between Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure Design for Manufacturing and address procurement issues early in the development process.
- Review Design and Engineering specifications and communicate Manufacturing concerns to the Engineering team.
- Provide technical input for the Test Equipment Development and test coverage strategy.
- Present and report project status, progress, performance to KPIs, and manage Industrialization project risks.
- Calculate and monitor recurring costs of the product and non-recurring costs related to industrialization.
- Apply structured problem-solving, lean principles, and best practices to drive product and process improvements.
- Lead efforts to achieve product maturity, manufacturability, process maturity, and test maturity.
- Ensure training plans, work instructions, BOMs, and critical processes are developed and implemented before transitioning the product into production.
Requirements
What we are looking for in an ideal candidate:
- Post-Secondary Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive project leading experience in manufacturing, ideally in electronics or aerospace environment.
- Experience in NPI, process validation, PFMEA, Design for Manufacturing, APQP, PPAP, and project management.
