Non-Emergency Medical Chauffeur for Veterans

Wheels for Wise is a Veteran Affairs independence program affiliate that assists Veterans and others in getting to and from medical appointments, such as doctors' appointments, physio, dentist visits, day surgeries, massage therapy, and many others. As the first company of its kind in the Atlantic, we are continually growing to serve the needs of our clients. This is an amazing opportunity for someone semi-retired or who wishes to help Veterans in your area.

We are currently looking for a driver/support worker in Nova Scotia.

What we are looking for:

1. Veteran / Retired RCMP preferred but not necessary.
2. Position is part-time / Casual (5 to 30 hours a week, depending mostly on employee requests).
3. MUST have a clean driver's abstract.
4. MUST pass a vulnerable sector check.
5. MUST be able to temporarily support someone's weight.
6. Mileage paid when utilizing a personal vehicle.
7. PREFERRED location of driver is in HRM, but not necessary.
8. Polite and caring demeanor.
9. Smartphone required.
10. Experience with individuals with PTSD is an asset.

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 20 per week

Flexible language requirement:

• French not required.

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
• On call
