SECURITY SUPERVISOR (TTC)

A.S.P. Inc is seeking experienced police and military personnel for security specialist positions who can provide a highly visible and advance specialist service at various posts at critical infrastructure in a professional, competent and courteous manner. The posts will be assigned within the Greater Toronto Area. Additionally, a career with A.S.P can provide experienced security guards with the skills and work experience required to become a police officer, CBSA agent or Corrections officer.
Applicants must be honest, confident, and socially aware individuals with a responsible attitude and who have the ability to assess situations and react quickly. They should be resilient, tenacious and be able to remain calm in what can sometimes be hostile situations. Strong leadership, confidence and communication skills are important, with the ability to work alone or as part of a professional team dealing with demanding challenges.
What you will do:
- Managing and leading a team of Security Specialists
- Maintaining an open line of communication with the client and A.S.P. Incorporated
- Providing Security Guard Services at TTC (Toronto Transit Commission)’s assigned locations
- Monitoring and foot patrolling assigned areas
- Observing, investigating, and acting on possible breaches of security, fire and safety hazards, illegal entry, theft and malfunction or interruption of utilities and informing designated authorities in the event of emergency
- Documenting all security incidents into a clear, concise, complete and accurate security incident report
- Providing highly visible professional knowledge of security protocols and the ability to react in multiple scenarios
- Be present on the subway platforms and assist TTC Supervisors/staff with redirecting people off the trains and out of the stations
- Attend various TTC subway stations in the downtown core and as required to assist with station openings and closings
- Informing the designated authorities in the event of security, fire, or health emergencies. Escorting designated authorities, police, fire, and ambulance personnel to emergency locations
- Recording and maintaining logbook of daily activities, unusual or special occurrences and issuance of equipment to staff
- Receiving/recording complaints, conducting investigations, preparing incident reports, and conducting follow up investigations
- Liaising with TTC management to communicate any issues and challenges to site operations and reporting any health and safety concerns or fire and life safety concerns
- Enforcement of the Trespass to Property Act including physically removing individuals found trespassing or engaging in criminal acts on premises or the assigned property
- Other duties as assigned
Who you are:
- 1 year of Canadian Police or Canadian Armed forces experience
- Graduate from a recognized community college in the field of law enforcement, security administration or related field, including justice studies, social service, mental health and/or healthcare
- Minimum of two (2) years experience within North American security industry and experience in a related security function
- Minimum of one (1) year experience within North American experience in a related security supervisory function
- Hands-on experience with making or assisting arrests
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to work in high stress environment
- Ability to make quick and informed decisions
- Must have the ability to perform the physical aspects of this position including standing and walking for an entire shift in tactical gear
- Licensed by the Province of Ontario as a registered Security Guard and must maintain the license for the duration of employment
- Smart Serve, De-Escalation, SCDT, Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of common security policies and various related Acts, Codes and legislation, including the Criminal Code, the Trespass to Property Act, the Fire Code and WHMIS
