At Sooke Harbour House, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Night Audit to join our team. As a Night Audit, you will oversee operations during the overnight hours. As a vital member of our team, you’ll ensure the smooth functioning of our establishment, maintaining high standards of service and security throughout the night.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate nighttime operations, including front desk activities, and security protocols.
- Provide exemplary customer service, addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and courteously.
- Manage overnight check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in guest transactions.
- Monitor property security measures and respond swiftly to any safety or security incidents.
- Conduct thorough inspections of facilities and guest rooms to uphold cleanliness and maintenance standards.
- Prepare and distribute reports summarizing nightly activities and performance metrics.
- Foster effective communication and teamwork among overnight staff members and other departments.
- Perform end-of-day accounting procedures, including balancing revenue and expense transactions.
- Audit daily transactions, room charges, and guest accounts for accuracy.
- Prepare and distribute daily reports such as the daily revenue report and occupancy report.
- Complete night audit checklist tasks, ensuring all duties are performed accurately.
- Assist with preparing for the next day’s arrivals and departures.
- Collaborate with the front desk team to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
- Act as MOD for the Night.
- Be knowledgeable on information for guests about hotel amenities, local attractions, and services.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Process payments and maintain accurate records of guest transactions.
- Utilize in-house POS systems for all departments.
- Coordinate with other hotel staff to ensure smooth check-in and check-out processes.
- Assist with room assignments and room changes as needed.
- Perform in-room services pertaining to dining and special requests.
- Stand for long periods and occasionally lift luggage, bags, boxes, and heavy items.
- Maintain a professional image, reflecting positively on the company.
Employment Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Experience working in a luxury hotel or high-end customer service environment is an asset.
Your Skills:
- Proficiency in using computers and experience with hotel management software is an asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with guests from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address and resolve guest issues promptly and satisfactorily.
- High level of empathy and patience to provide a personalized experience for each guest.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
- Thinking creatively and efficiently to resolve issues.
- Enthusiastic self-starter and willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and a combination of standing and sitting for extended periods.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 100 lbs. and lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
- Fluency in English.
- Positive attitude towards teamwork and willingness to assist colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills to manage reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquiries smoothly.
