New Grad Tech Development Program (Spring 2025)

About the role

Our New Grad Tech Development Program is a transformative and exciting opportunity to launch your career by working alongside our team of 3,000 Digital, Data and Tech experts, in either our Cybersecurity or Software Development and Cloud stream. Program will begin June 2025.

You’ll immerse yourself in a dynamic hands-on 24-month rotation program with access to our innovative leaders, to the latest tools and technologies, and have a chance to shape the future of insurance. Our technology products are used by more than two million Canadians to help protect the things they care about most.

In return, we promise to provide support, an inclusive and collaborative workplace, and an exciting placement on one of our teams at the end of the program. Each participant will be paired with a mentor for guidance and support and can take advantage of our vibrant student and new grad community. You will have access to professional development courses and certifications and receive regular performance reviews and feedback sessions.

What you’ll do here:

  1. In the Cybersecurity Stream, you will:
    1. Develop and implement security policies, conduct vulnerability assessments, and perform penetration testing.
    2. Monitor network traffic, investigate security incidents, and collaborate with teams to enhance security measures.
    3. Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and participate in threat intelligence gathering and analysis.
    4. Work on impact projects, related to SIEM Automation, Product Evaluation, Cyber Risk Remediation, and Risk Analysis/Assessment.
  2. In the Software & Cloud Stream, you will:
    1. Design, develop, and implement software solutions, including cloud infrastructure and services.
    2. Monitor and optimize application performance in cloud environment; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
    3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and contribute to best practices in software development.
    4. Examine existing systems for flaws and create solutions that improve service uptime and time-to-resolve through monitoring and automated remediation.
    5. Work alongside other developers to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
    6. Plan and execute full software development lifecycle for each assigned project, adhering to company standards and expectations.

What you bring to the table:

  1. Recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field, completed within the past year.
  2. Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  3. Adaptability, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  4. Excellent communication skills with a passion for technology.
  5. Self-reliant with a strong sense of responsibility.
  6. Bilingualism is ESSENTIAL for Montreal (French and English).

Cybersecurity Stream:

  1. Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and security technologies including SIEM, Next Gen Anti-virus/EDR, AI Threat Intelligence etc.
  2. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java.

Software Development & Cloud Stream:

  1. Understanding of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  2. Knowledge of Java and Spring Framework for backend development and understanding of Angular and TypeScript for frontend development.
  3. Understanding of Agile development methods.
