Summary

At Hatch, the Structural CAD Designer is part of an engineering team providing engineering services to large and small projects. The role is responsible for the production of structural 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Structural Designer.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  1. Assist the Lead Structural Designer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule.
  2. Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software as required.
  3. Perform conceptual layout work.
  4. Check drawings prior to release.
  5. Ensure coordination with designers and engineers within the discipline and with other disciplines.
  6. Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models.
  7. Participate in formal engineering review processes.
  8. Verify onsite condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities.
  9. Incorporate safety in design.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Experience within a large project, multi-disciplinary EPCM environment.
  2. Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D structural design/drawing software packages, including Revit, AutoCAD, or Bentley MicroStation software.
  3. Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to structural design in Ontario.
  4. Understanding of other discipline requirements.
