Computer Network Architect job in Ashburn, VA

Description

Vertex Consulting Inc. dba Vertex Group in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Computer Network Architect to design and implement computer and information networks.

Responsibilities

1. Develop or recommend network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits, or automated security probes.
2. Monitor and analyze network performance and reports on data input or output to detect problems, identify inefficient use of computer resources, or perform capacity planning.
3. Coordinate network or design activities with designers of associated networks.
4. Develop conceptual, logical, or physical network designs.
5. Develop and implement solutions for network problems.
6. Determine specific network hardware or software requirements, such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas.
7. Communicate with system users to ensure accounts are set up properly or to diagnose and solve operational problems.
8. Evaluate network designs to determine whether customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
9. Participate in network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware and software and integration testing.
10. Prepare detailed network specifications, including diagrams, charts, equipment configurations, or recommended technologies.
11. Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.

Minimum requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) field of study and five (5) years of post-degree, progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in any related position(s) in which the required experience was gained.

Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency, skill, experience, and knowledge with the following :

1. Cisco Firepower firewalls
2. VPNs
3. Cisco routers and switches
