Rogers is seeking a Network Planner to join the technology team.

What you will be doing:

  • Analyze market level KPIs, traffic growth, coverage gaps, etc. to identify in-building system requirement
  • Develop plan for new in-building site, upgrade existing site and analyze alternatives to recommend the most economical in-building solution
  • Provide technical details to design appropriate in-building solution to meet coverage and growing subscriber demand
  • Plan, budget, and initiate projects to support network evolution, meet departmental and organizational objectives regarding network expansion, subscriber growth and usage patterns
  • Produce applicable project specification documents to initiate and synchronize all stakeholders to accomplish in-building system initiatives
  • Collaborate with Regional Network Implementation and Engineering teams for support and guidance for site acquisition, lease, and design issues
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of project status, identify obstacles that have negative impact on project completion targets and recommend course of action to resolve technical issue
  • Estimate cost and prepare CA for new in-building projects with National Planning and Engineering teams
  • Prepare capacity for event, coordinate with event management and performance monitoring, conduct postmortem study on event performance to optimize in-building system

What you will bring:

  • Detailed understanding of different types of in-building system, design, and optimization
  • Strong understanding of Wireless Access Network functionality and elements.
  • Full Scope of GSM/HSPA/LTE/5G Radio Access
  • In-depth understanding of RAN (Radio Access Network) capacity, optimization process, performance KPIs
  • Strong knowledge on HSPA, LTE and 5G RF and optimization
  • Familiarity with Ericsson radio base station hardware and configuration
  • Strong aptitude for research, data analysis and trend development
  • Strong planning and budget, cost estimation and accounting skills
  • Microsoft Office suite, basic programming language (python, javascript)
  • Undergraduate degree with previous experience in in-building planning and designing
  • Professional designation is a plus (ex.P. Eng, PMP)

This is a hybrid work position and will require you to be in office three days per week. You can choose which days in office work best for you!
