As part of their ongoing growth and expansion in the offshore oil and gas industry, we are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain wireless networks and telemetry systems for a flagship offshore project. Key Responsibilities:
- Wireless Network Design: Design and implement reliable and high-performance wireless network infrastructures to support communication across offshore oil and gas platforms. Ensure networks are optimized for minimal latency, high reliability, and scalability in challenging environments.
- Telemetry Systems Design and Integration: Develop and deploy telemetry systems to enable real-time monitoring and data collection from remote sensors, equipment, and safety systems on offshore platforms. Work closely with SCADA and other industrial automation systems for seamless data integration.
- Network Architecture and Infrastructure: Plan and design the network architecture, ensuring that wireless and telemetry systems can handle high-bandwidth, low-latency requirements for critical operational data. Design systems to be robust and resilient in offshore environments, ensuring maximum uptime and fault tolerance. Oversee the installation and deployment of wireless communication equipment, including access points, telemetry sensors, and routers. Ensure systems are installed according to specifications, industry standards, and project timelines. Design and implement robust security measures for wireless and telemetry systems, including encryption, firewall management, VPNs, and access control. Ensure all systems comply with regulatory standards and industry best practices for offshore operations. Continuously monitor the performance of wireless and telemetry networks, proactively identifying and troubleshooting issues. Ensure timely resolution of network and system problems to minimize downtime. Work closely with project managers, offshore operations teams, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure into the overall project systems. Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide technical guidance and updates. Maintain thorough documentation of network designs, configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and system updates. Prepare and present regular reports on system performance and status to management teams.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or CompTIA Network+ are advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting wireless networks and telemetry systems, preferably in offshore oil and gas or similar industrial environments.
- Experience with offshore networking technologies and understanding of the unique challenges of working in harsh environments.
- Hands-on experience with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, LTE, satellite communication) and telemetry protocols (Modbus, OPC, MQTT, etc.).
- Expertise in network design, network troubleshooting, and the implementation of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Experience with industrial communication networks (SCADA, IoT integration, remote monitoring systems).
- Familiarity with wireless network planning tools, network monitoring tools, and performance optimization techniques.
- Understanding of offshore safety and operational systems, including the ability to integrate and troubleshoot telemetry devices.

Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $60.00-$90.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Additional pay: Overtime pay
