Job Summary:

The Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA) was established in 2014 through a grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research in partnership with non-profit, pharma, provincial and private funding partners with the goal of catalyzing collaborative research in dementia within Canada.

The Network Coordinator will support the Program Director and the CCNA management team by providing them with administrative and project coordination support. This includes, but is not limited to progress reporting, gathering information, and coordination of program policies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and organize for the annual progress reports to CIHR (for the BRAIN and CCNA grants), and other reporting activities, and ensure respect of deadlines and high quality of materials.
  • With support from the CCNA Director write new policies and amendments of existing policies, or any other relevant documentation related to CCNA’s operations.
  • Coordinate CCNA’s monthly newsletter which will include gathering information, writing, and disseminating the newsletter.
  • Coordinate manuscript submissions to the Publication and Data Access Committee (PDAC).
  • Coordinate documentation for new CCNA affiliate applications including maintaining a list of affiliates with contact information.
  • Develop metrics to measure CCNA’s impact across the field of dementia research in Canada with the support of the Program Director.
  • Lead or actively participate in most CCNA committees to ensure compliance with CCNA policies and procedures.
  • Ensure network development and cohesion to create and distribute newsletters/messages to CCNA affiliates, partners, and share key information on organization activities, and funding or other opportunities.
  • Work closely with the communications and knowledge translation staff to ensure a good outward flow of information regarding CCNA.
  • Maintain regular communications with CCNA’s International Scientific Advisory Board, the Strategic Advisory Council, and other CCNA committees, and coordinate regular meetings.
  • Fulfill other relevant tasks to the position as they become apparent.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • Relevant Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.
  • Three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in administrative coordination, preferably in the context of research operations and/or management.
  • Well-developed administrative and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize in time-constrained situations.
  • Excellent writing, redaction, and proofreading skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders.
