Overview:
Our client in Regina, SK is looking for a .Net Front End Web Developer for a 6 month contract to start, reference #2024-06. This position can be remote and the candidate can be located anywhere in Canada but may be required to travel occasionally to the Regina area (travel will be expensed). The Microsoft .net Front End Web Developer will participate with a development team responsible for the delivery of a .net technical solution for a research program. This is a long-term health research study, spanning over 50 years.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform ongoing technical development of the research program. This individual will be responsible for creating a modern visual identity for the website and participant portal.
  • Design and build web application components that meet Business Requirements using Microsoft .net deployed on Azure.
  • Guide Team members providing direction and mentorship during the design, development, configuration, testing, and implementation of web application components and overall website design. This will include code review and performance testing and tuning.
  • Provide creative suggestions to allow presentation of a modern website for use. Become familiar with the current website and show how to move it forward in terms of technology and presentation.
  • Build complex components using Microsoft .net, SQL Server, Azure, Microsoft Entra and User Interface frameworks. These components must be able to be consumed on a variety of devices and browser platforms as they are external facing (iOS, Android, PC, Mac, etc.).
  • Work with Microsoft Entra and Entra External ID for maintaining security for both external users as well as staff.
  • Build a modern and maintainable web solution to meet the needs of the program for the foreseeable future.
  • Provide technical feedback of business requirements identifying potential solutions/approaches and any associated risks/mitigation options.
  • Create interface solutions to including but not limited to API, messaging, etc.
  • Prepare technical documentation required to support the project(s) and transition technical knowledge to the support teams.
  • Provide work time estimates to the Provincial Manager.
  • Report technical progress risks and issues to the Provincial Manager and team members.
  • Diagnose and resolve system defects.
  • Liaison with Health Care and Technical Partners representing Technical Needs and Solutions.
  • Attend weekly meetings.
  • This position will work primarily remote however regular attendance for meetings/workshops at the Saskatoon office location may be required. For this reason, preference will be given to Saskatoon based resources.

What you must have:

  • Superior working knowledge of .net software development technology, database processing, programming, workflow analysis principles, networks and protocols.
  • Experience with modern web presentation frameworks.
  • Experience with security technologies such as Microsoft Entra, Entra External ID and Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and principles.
  • Understanding of technical designs, specifications and principles systems and software applications.
  • Communication skills are required to develop and present complex information including written documentation and verbal presentations to audiences with varying levels of comprehension ability.
  • Ability to comprehend complex business issues.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills to coordinate with project teams through the project phases.
  • Initiative and independent judgment required to solve complex problems.
  • Human relations skills required to ensure compliance and promote acceptance through negotiating with staff and suppliers where there is a requirement to resolve the conflict or situation.
  • Human relations skills required when meeting with vendors and SCA staff regarding compliance and acceptance issues, such as promoting standards to enhance interoperability between stakeholders or meet certification requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, patients/clients, senior leadership team and/or the community.
  • Bachelor degree in computer science, business administration, health care administration, engineering or equivalent.
  • Diploma in computer technology or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience of web development using .net.
  • Preference will be given to those with 3+ years of healthcare IT experience, including an understanding of the role with respect to data integration and interfaces.
  • Experience working in a highly integrated environment.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring technical development teams.
