NDT Technician - UT

Responsibilities

BakosNDT is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwood Service Corporation and is a growing and leading provider of non-destructive testing services in Western Canada, with services offered to all industrial sectors. With anticipation for exciting growth, we deem it necessary to build a strong foundational team to support this expansion. The successful applicants will be ambitious and energetic individuals who enjoy diversity in their role and wish to grow their career in tandem.

We are currently seeking a CGSB Certified UT Technician to join and contribute to our team. This is a full-time permanent position that will support our night operations based out of Whitecourt, AB.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and calibrate testing equipment.
• Conduct tests on parts, following procedures established for specified inspection task being performed.
• Evaluate results according to specifications and standards.
• Assist with various other inspection tasks.
• Organize and report test results.
• Adhere to all company quality and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Ultrasonic Testing UT1 or UT2 CGSB Certification
• Resides locally within the Whitecourt, AB area.
• Strong work ethics.
• Ability to maintain positive working relations with clients.
• Exceptional safety and quality awareness.
• Ability to solve problems and manage time effectively.
• Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical and performance level.
• Preference for facility, pipeline and weld inspection (structural and pressure).
• Possess good analytical skills, detail oriented.
• Be able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally (English).
• Be able to pass a vision and color detection test.
• Willing to learn and assist in various inspection techniques.
• Possess a valid driver’s license minimum (class 5) with a clean driving record.
• Able to work well within a team environment.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to work long hours and weekends away from home base.
• Willingness to travel throughout Canada to complete inspection projects.
