SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. is seeking CGSB Certified NDT Technicians who are self-motivated and safety-oriented individuals to support our spring 2025 Turn Around in Northern Alberta. SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. has provided in-service pressure vessel inspections predominately to the Oil and Gas industry across western Canada since 2004, and is seeking skilled, experienced, and team-oriented candidates who value quality and integrity.
SHIFT AND LOCATION
Expected dates: May 08 – May 27, 2025
6/1 rotation (subject to change based on the client’s needs)
Day shift, night shift
Mob in/out flights provided from main hubs (Calgary/Edmonton)
Camp accommodations provided
Travel assistance provided for out of province inspectors
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Detecting deficiencies using NDT methods and procedures of inspection
Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures
Understand and complete work assignments as per company inspection procedures in a timely, effective, and competent manner
Document and record findings identified in inspections performed
Understand local jurisdiction regulations in conducting job tasks
Oversee repair and maintenance for equipment assigned and ensure related documentation is maintained
Record results of inspections and perform NDT methods and other operations
Responsible to report any unsafe work activities, hazards, or concerns
Responsible to adhere to all safety regulations, standards and maintain safe work practices
Represents SUMMIT with external parties, regulatory bodies and clients
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum two (2) years of experience in NDT field as a certified technician in at least one (1) NDT method
Certified CGSB Level I in a minimum of one method (Phased Array, UT, PT, MT, XF)
Must have the following valid safety certifications prior to employment: H2S Alive, Emergency First Aid, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), Confined Space Entry and Rescue, OSSA Fall protection, and Elevated Work Platform
CWB certifications considered an asset
Prior experience in Oil Sands considered an asset
Prior experience leading a crew considered an asset
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Read and write in English
Ability to collaborate on assignments
Experience working in confined spaces and working from heights
Strong attention to detail required to provide thorough inspection observations
Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
Valid driver’s license required
Candidates will be required to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test prior to site deployment
