A dynamic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Naval Architect / Marine Engineer to contribute to critical naval programs. You will be involved in a range of engineering tasks, from technical support to project management, while ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Provide expert technical support on a range of engineering tasks, including:
Developing detailed technical work instructions
Conducting failure analysis and solution development
Performing structural and stability calculations
Supporting lifting appliance certification, design, and testing
Project Management: Manage and execute engineering projects, from initial planning to final delivery.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards, classification society rules, and naval ship codes.
Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, naval architects, and project managers to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, or ship operations.
Eligible for a Professional Engineer registration in British Columbia, Nova Scotia, or Ontario.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
Experience with project management methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the design and certification of shipboard lifting appliances (Marine cranes)
Experience in project management of ship repair and engineering change projects.
Knowledge of weight and stability calculations and lightship surveys.
