Job Description

This is a 6-month temporary contract position.

Are you an experienced Business Analyst with Project Management experience, looking for an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, innovative, and mission-driven organization? We're currently seeking a Business Analyst and Project Lead to support and lead various projects and play an important role in understanding and improving business processes across the organization.

Interested? In this position, you would have the opportunity to:

  • Work closely with Business Subject Matter Experts (SME) to clearly define business requirements for initiatives.
  • Create project plans and facilitate the creation of project material and key documents.
  • Provide project plan management activities, lead project meetings, maintain project documentation, and issue resolution.
  • Develop detailed use cases and test scenarios/cases.
  • Lead and/or assist with various projects as prioritized by the National Manager, Tax and Projects.
  • Provide ongoing support as required to the business area after implementation and project closure.
  • Lead in systems architecture workflows.
  • Develop a training strategy and materials required for the training.
  • Work collaboratively with the organization SME's to document current and future state processes.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing in partnership with Project Manager and IT.
  • Prepare new procedures and user guides to be used by the business teams.
  • Analyze the impact of changes on users and develop change management requirements.
  • Provide the required support to help staff adjust to changes introduced by new solutions.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and support learning to create further efficiencies in performing tasks.
  • Collect, document, and communicate the solutions to common issues to the department to reduce frustration.
  • Monitor the performance of ongoing business processes and highlight any issues/incidents and possible enhancements as appropriate.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) through International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) through IIBA.
  • PMP Certification is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with management.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter who is able to function well in JDRF's collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to anticipate the organizational impact of process changes.
  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive, goal-oriented, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to determine which issues to escalate vs. to resolve independently and provide suggestions for possible resolution.
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment in handling confidential information.

Location: Flexible within Canada; JDRF is a remote-first organization and this position will work remotely from a home-office.

Salary: The anticipated salary for the new incumbent is within the range of $70,000-$82,000 (based on an annual salary) commensurate with skills and experience in relation to the role requirements.
