Nanny/Child Caregiver

We are seeking a responsible and caring Nanny/Child caregiver to provide quality childcare for our child. The ideal candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which the children can thrive and develop. Teaching Mandarin as a second language and assisting with musical development for the child are considered great assets.

Responsibilities:

• Change soiled undergarments
• Follow parents’ lead with toilet training
• Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Shop for food and household supplies
• Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens
• Care for pets
• Bathe, dress and feed infants and children
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Organize activities such as games and outings for children
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
• Prepare infants and children for rest periods
• Supervise and care for children
• Take children to and from school and to appointments
• Tend to emotional well-being of children
• Applying psychological theory and principles regarding behaviour and mental processes would be a great asset

Qualifications:

• Prior experience caring for children
• Ability to cook and prepare meals for children
• Willingness to engage in educational activities with the children
• Strong communication skills with both children and parents in both English and Mandarin
• Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the children
• Professional experience teaching
• CPR & First Aid training

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Education: Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience: Childcare: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification: CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred)
