Music Teacher

NOIC Academy is located in the city of Markham, Ontario. Being a full-time, high-end private boarding secondary school, it has offered the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) since 2004 with BSID 667013 as its school code. In March 2015, it was authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to become an IB World School, offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). NOIC ACADEMY is co-inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education and IBO.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated IB & OSSD Business teacher to teach the Ontario Grade 12 Business Leadership (BOH4M) course within the IB framework on a remote basis. This position involves delivering the course material, providing student support, and collaborating with academic staff in a culturally diverse environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a dynamic and effective online learning experience for students.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver the BOH4M course twice a week for a 12-week period, totaling 36 synchronous teaching hours (excluding breaks).
2. Engage with students remotely, maintaining an interactive and supportive online learning environment.
3. Mark assignments, respond to student inquiries, and prepare report cards in alignment with the Ontario Ministry of Education’s assessment and reporting guidelines.
4. Fulfill all responsibilities associated with the teaching role beyond class time, including administrative tasks and student progress monitoring.
5. Work closely with the Vice Principal and online administration team to coordinate course-related tasks and ensure successful course delivery.
6. Maintain ongoing communication with students and staff to foster a positive educational experience.

Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field, with a focus on the subject being taught.
2. Curriculum Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) Grade 12 curriculum, including the BOH4M course, and the Ministry of Education’s assessment, evaluation, and reporting guidelines as outlined in the Growing Success document.
3. Teaching Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching BOH4M and IBDP Business Management (preferred). Knowledge of IB curriculum frameworks is an asset. Experience working with ESL students is a plus.
4. Pedagogical Skills: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage an online classroom effectively.
5. Technology Proficiency: High proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning in an online environment.
