The Project Multidisciplinary Engineering Coordinator will join the Engineering Management practice within the Technical Professional Organization (TPO) of Engineering Services Canada. The Project Multidisciplinary Engineering Coordinator will play a supporting role in the delivery of Engineering Services on large and complex projects (generally Class 3, 4 & 5 projects) while also supporting the growth of the Engineering Management practice.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, Engineering Management Practice, the Project Multidisciplinary Engineering Coordinator will assist the Project Engineering Director or Manager overseeing/ensuring the successful execution of the engineering design of large, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. The Multidisciplinary Engineering Coordinator will be assigned a specific Project area within this support role. In addition, he or she will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Project Delivery, Technical TPO, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet and exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, good technical expertise, and multi-disciplinary engineering experience.
This role will be based in Toronto, ON or Montréal, QC.
Your role within the team:
Engineering Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with Win Work and Market Lead to define proposal timelines, deliverables, and efforts, ensuring alignment with client requirements and overall business objectives.
Collaborate with Project Engineering Director or Manager to define project goals, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements and overall business objectives.
Oversee the engineering project lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and implementation of his Project area, while assisting the Project Engineering Director or Manager in managing resources effectively.
Collaborate in the generation of the Project Design Execution Plan.
Oversee the inter-disciplinary technical coordination of his Project area and assist the Project Director or Manager in his coordination role.
Assist the Project Engineering Director and Manager in overseeing all the Project Coordinators (Package, BIM, Change, Permit, Environmental, etc.).
Collaborate in the review of work hour estimates for the project to ensure budget and schedule are adhered to.
Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and resolve any issues or bottlenecks that may impact project timelines or quality.
Technical Expertise and Quality Assurance:
For his Project Area, provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team, ensuring the use of industry best practices and standards.
Conduct regular reviews and quality assessments of engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and quality standards.
Promote a Value Engineering culture throughout the project lifecycle.
Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes, methodologies, and tools, driving efficiency and productivity.
Actively act in the role of Design Coordinator on a major project.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project success.
Engage in effective communication, providing regular engineering updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations to foster strong client relationships.
Actively participate in meetings, presentations, and technical discussions, representing the engineering team and providing expert insights and recommendations.

The ideal candidate:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field with 5 to 8+ years of experience in a relevant field. Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering management, overseeing simple engineering projects.
Ability to obtain relevant professional designation (P.Eng) in multiple jurisdictions across Canada.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences (both French and English are an asset).
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and provide deliverables within budget and on schedule.
Familiarity with relevant engineering software, tools, and technologies.
