Job Summary

As a Trail Crew Member in the Mountain Bike Park, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining our current mountain bike trails as well as assisting with the building, planning and shaping of future trails. Along with trail maintenance our Bike Trail Crew also assists other departments mountain-wide with various tasks including; clean up and tear-down, transport, fencing and on occasion are expected to assist with line control and other guest related duties.

Essential Job Functions

  • General day to day maintenance and prepping of trails including raking, shoveling, brush cutting and chainsaw use
  • Daily maintenance of power tools at beginning/end of shift
  • Adhering to all mountain policies and regulations at all times on or off the job
  • Cheerfully interacting with guests and staff, willing to go above and beyond to help guests
  • Demonstrating safe work practices and mandatory use of PPE
  • Cleaning up or assisting trades department and Mountain Crew with special tasks
  • Assisting with transport of goods around the mountain-top area
  • Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position reports directly to the Bike Park Manager and does not require any supervisory responsibilities.

Required Qualifications and Abilities

  • Strong mountain bike riding skills required
  • Previous experience in trail building, construction or mechanical experience an asset
  • Must be in excellent physical condition and possess a great work ethic
  • Functional knowledge of mountain operations an asset
  • OFA Level 3 an asset
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Punctual, in uniform and adhering to uniform and grooming policies
  • Experience/certification in the use of a chainsaw and/or brush cutter is preferred
  • Must be a team player and able to work with minimal supervision on occasion
  • Basic understanding of Risk Management for mountain biking
  • Valid driver’s license required

Working Conditions

Trail Crew members perform most of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions. Hours of operation of the Bike Park are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. Work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting and other forms of manual tasks.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting from $20.57/hour to $24.06/hour
