Mountain Bike Rental Technician / Mechanic - Summer Operations

RED Mountain Resort Bike Park is looking for passionate and experienced Mountain Bike Rental Technicians/Mechanics to join our team for the 2025 Summer Season!

The primary responsibility in this role will be to outfit our guests with rental bikes and equipment as well as maintain, repair and assemble the Red Mountain Bike Park rental fleet. You will also provide customer service and support for the Rentals team.

The wage rate for this position is $20-24/hour depending on experience and qualifications.

The anticipated start date for this position is June 2025, ending in October 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide service, basic maintenance and repairs to all fleet rental bikes.
2. Cleaning and inspecting all bikes prior to service or repair.
3. Complete servicing and repairs to brakes, drivetrain, wheels as well as basic suspension maintenance to the highest standard.
4. Inspection of all bikes in the rental fleet prior to usage before being put back into the available fleet.
5. Ensure all workspaces and the rental/service shop is clean and organized at all times.
6. Build new bikes for the rental fleet.
7. Provide knowledge and guidance for ordering of new bikes, in consultation with your supervisor.
8. Ensure manufacturer and safety guidelines are followed for all repair and maintenance.
9. Complete safety and usage checks for all bikes.
10. Provide guidance to customers and act as a subject matter expert on bike mechanics.
11. Perform customer service at the rentals desk.
12. Assist all guests in finding the right rental bike for their needs and ensuring the bike is set up for each individual guest.
13. Engaging with the team and management to ensure effective communication.
14. Ensure all servicing is logged according to policy.
15. Provide basic servicing when required to guest bikes.

1. At least 2 years experience as a Bike Mechanic.
2. Advanced knowledge of mountain bikes, maintenance, repairs and tools.
3. An avid mountain biker.
4. Passion for the outdoor and cycling industry.
5. Strong knowledge of the Mountain Bike Industry.
6. Strong communication and guest experience skills.
7. Problem solving skills.

1. Must be an intermediate to advanced bike rider that is able to test bikes as required.
2. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
3. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
4. Must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and/or weekends.

1. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
2. Able to make quick decisions using good judgement and knowledge of bike mechanics.
3. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
4. Work effectively in a team environment.
5. Strong organizational skills.
