Job description

We are looking for a disciplined and artistic individual with a firm grasp on animation styles, techniques, fundamentals, and software. The animator will read through scripts and speak with creatives to understand project needs, ideate, explore, and create storyboards and animations, and assist in the editing process. Although graphics and animation are the main focus, this role may need to utilize other software tools to edit video footage and integrate audio into multimedia content. Experience working with technology clients and with content variations is a plus.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with the creative and production team members to understand needs, review scripts, design storyboards, and create and edit animations and video footage, as needed.
  • Listen to feedback and alter animations to better suit creative needs.
  • Ensure that the final product aligns with the needs of the creative and is delivered on time.
  • Work alongside team and creative team leaders to adhere to quality and brand guidelines.
  • Use creativity and artistic techniques to tell a story or provide information in a visual form.
  • Maintain an open and solution-focused demeanor when working with teammates, especially when dealing with short deadlines, changing direction, and roadblocks.
  • Maintain organized files and workflows to facilitate collaboration in a remote work environment.
  • Manage a workflow that can be easily accessed and implemented by other staff members.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments and new applications.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of Figma.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Skills Required

  • 5+ years of After Effects experience.
  • Must have knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer animation, fine arts, graphic design, or related field.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, presentation, and computer skills.
  • A strong eye for design and an interest in seeking new inspiration and design styles, while demonstrating a clear understanding of design best practices—especially pertaining to typography and composition.
  • Understanding of animation, storytelling, and character development techniques.
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, and receptiveness to feedback and direction.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team to develop animations and solve problems.
  • Develop motion graphics and animations using 2D, from concept to execution.
  • Passion for being part of a team; strong ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Video editing experience is a plus.
  • 3D animation experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AI.
  • Illustration skills and the ability to create custom graphics are strongly preferred.
