The Opportunity

We’re looking to fill a Mortgage Funder position at RFA Bank of Canada!

Reporting to the Manager of Mortgage Funding, the Funder is accountable for the day-to-day fulfillment of RFA Bank of Canada’s back office operational activities including the prioritizing and processing of mortgage files for timely and accurate instruction and closing.

Core Responsibilities

As a Mortgage Funder, you will:

Operations:

  1. Set up new mortgage files on external partner website applications
  2. Upload documents to storage system
  3. Prepare and send applicable instructional package to FCT along with relevant documents
  4. Follow up with solicitor prior to closing
  5. Ensure that all conditions have been met, all documentation has been received and that file is complete on the day of closing
  6. Review solicitor mortgage documentation to ensure it corresponds to the terms of the commitment and is in compliance with established regulatory and company guidelines and policies
  7. Preparation of funds and validation of request for funds to ensure balanced accounting.
  8. Maintenance and review of daily reporting for loans funding.
  9. Respond to all inquiries within the established turnaround times
  10. Adhere to policy/procedures to ensure AML and Quality Assurance requirements are met
  11. Correct data entry errors as they appear on exception reporting
  12. Monitor and respond to inquiries and concerns received from Treasury, Underwriters, clients and their mortgage brokers and solicitors regarding file status or issues.
  13. Other general administrative duties or special projects as assigned
  14. Maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the funding function by maintaining an environment of continuous improvement and recommend process and procedures to streamline activities.
  15. Investigate internal and external customer complaints and track complaints until resolved or escalated to the Designated Officer.

  2. Ensure all inquiries are effectively and accurately investigated, responded to and resolved to the satisfaction of clients.
  3. Ensure Mortgage advancements are accurate and sent in a timely manner
  4. Work in liaison with our servicers

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  1. A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  2. General knowledge of basic accounting principles would be helpful.
  3. Previous experience with mortgage products, specifically in relation to customer service, administration processes, funding, and legal documentation an asset.
